Paint A climate mural
October 14, 2018
International Community High School
At this special mural painting event in the Bronx, Puerto Rican artist Patricia Melodia Lewis led community members of all ages in painting a mural that tells a story of community resilience in the face of climate injustice. Her vision for the mural was inspired by an earlier after-school workshop with high school students where participants worked together to visually express their feelings and thoughts about climate change.
Community members, artists, and teenagers came together on Sunday, October 14 to co-create the mural, discuss climate impacts, and learn how public art can promote social justice and have a lasting impact in our communities.
Presented in partnership with YUCA Arts.
